Description

The Punta Marqués Natural Tourist Reserve was created in 1985. Since its declaration as a Biological Research Unit (2010), access is only allowed to researchers for scientific purposes. The main attraction is the reproductive station of the sea lion of one hair. The area is visited by tourists between December and April.

Conservation Objectives

Protection of an area of the marine coastline and Patagonian shrub steppe where there is a breeding site of the South American sea lion (Otaria flavescens). Scientific research area, research unit.(SIB). SIB defines it as a Nature Reserve for Tourism and Biology Research.
