Description

Punta Buenos Aires is located in the Los Abanicos establishment as national lands assigned in use and administration to the Armed Forces. It is one of the thirteen “Natural Spaces of Interest for the Conservation of Biodiversity (ENIC)” identified within the Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Defense and National Parks. In 2008 the area was declared a Natural Reserve of Defense “Punta Buenos Aires” with an integrated management between the Ministry of Defense, National Parks and the Government of the Province of Chubut.

Located within the Península Valdés protected area, together with El Doradillo, it is part of a landscape unit with articulated and integrated management between the different enforcement authorities.
