Description

The Makenke Interjurisdictional Marine Park is located in the central coastal marine area of the province of Santa Cruz, adjacent to the departments of Corpen Aike and Magallanes. It forms a landscape of high scenic, natural and cultural value as well as an enclave for the conservation of bird species and marine mammals of great attraction for tourism development. Its creation process began in 2010 with the signing of a Treaty between the Nation and the province of Santa Cruz. In 2011 the instrument was ratified by Provincial Decree and in 2012 it received national approval by Law 26.817.
